Celebrating International MSME Day: A Virtual Event on Empowering MSMEs for Sustainable Development

Tura Meghalaya, - June 27, 2024 - In honor of International MSME Day, a virtual event was hosted by the Government of India, the Ministry of MSME, and the DCMSME office. Organized by the MSME Development and Felicitation Office in Tura, Meghalaya, in collaboration with She Business Time (KRB Foundation), the event gathered industry leaders, government officials, and entrepreneurs to discuss the theme: "MSMEs and the SDGs - Leveraging the Power and Resilience of Micro-, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises to Accelerate Sustainable Development and Eradicate Poverty in Times of Multiple Crises."

The event, held online, took place from 11:00 AM to 11:40 AM, and featured esteemed speakers, including Mr. Nilesh Trivedi, Assistant Director of the Branch MSME-DFO Tura, and was hosted by media professional Hena Ahmed.During the event, Mr. Trivedi emphasized the critical role MSMEs play in driving sustainable development and poverty eradication. He highlighted various government initiatives aimed at supporting MSMEs, especially in regions like Meghalaya, where local entrepreneurial talent is nurtured through expanded incubation centers and mentorship programs.
